A Big Step Forward

Earthborn Awakening hit Amazon's #1 best seller spot in Teen and Young Adult Dystopian Sci-Fi ebooks in the United Kingdom! I'm way more excited than I probably should be, but I've been hoping to hit #1 in an Amazon category for a while.

Why?

Aside from being able to say, "I'm a #1 best selling author on Amazon!" There's a great business reason as well: the little yellow "#1 best seller" banner that Amazon put's on the book's product page when you hit #1. It's a little glowing sign that says buy me. And contrary to what some people say, it's actually fairly difficult to achieve in a well populated category.

The hardest part was finding the right audience to serve ads to. I'm not rich (yet) so I couldn't spend a ton of money on adverts. Sure, when the ads are working you make money, but that money doesn't hit your bank account for a few months. And that leaves me footing the bill for a while.

Further, I had to wait until the second book was available to make a profit. See my posts on strategy to learn more about this.

After that, I still had to find a group of people that would like to give the book a try since I'm a new author, and that's no small feat.

Anyhow, thank you so much for all your help in raising Earthborn Awakening through the ranks to the #1 slot. Here's hoping this is just the beginning of more awesome milestones to come!
